The packaging bag is an outfit to protect product from environment violation (such as humidity, air and other contaminating agent like dust, sand, bugs and germs), particularly for packing food, hygienic request, enhancing shelf life and keeping fragrance are critical factors related to structures of the bags among flexible laminated materials.

The below is a guideline of few evaluations for making a right material to pack edible content.

  • The content is stored in normal temperature, chill or frozen.
  • The packed content is with bone (such as pork rib) or sharp-pointed food (such as a whole fish with fins).
  • The packed content is stored by UHT (Ultra-High Temperature Sterilization) or by adding preservatives.
  • Is the packed content processing by adding alcohol and artificial color?
  • Placing of deoxidizer or filling nitrogen is a part of packaging process?

 

The following is the features and applications of flexible lamination in most used combination of different materials.

 

  • NY/PE : Barrier Material, High Resistance To Freeze, High Resistance to Tear, Low Sealing Temperature

Application: Frozen or Chilled Food

  • NY/CPP: Barrier Material, High Clarity, High Sealing Temperature

Application: Normal Temperature Stored Food or Chilled Food

  • PET/PE: Non- Barrier Material, High Resistance To Puncture

Application: Frozen or Chilled Food with Bone or Sharp-Pointed Content

  • PET/CPP: Non-Barrier Material, High Resistance to Puncture, High Clarity

Application: Normal Temperature Stored Food or Chilled Food

  • OPP/CPP: Non-Barrier, High Clarity

Application: Normal Temperature Stored Food or Chilled Food

 

The above combinations are available to form in top lid film, bags, and automatic packaging machine film. The lid film combinations are subject to substrates of tray or container.

 

The food packaging film/bags are supplied for a basic purpose as food safety and good shelf life. Collecting complete information of food property and stored condition is critical to make a right packaging film and bring a cost effectiveness of product.

  • Food size (from right to left long) + Food Depth + 1 ~ 1.5 cm + Two Side Sealing Width = Layflat of Bag

 

  • Food Thickness + Food size (from top to bottom long) + 3 ~ 5 cm + Bag Bottom Sealing Width = Length of Bag
